Award Winning Chapter
We don't do what we do for the recognition. But it's rewarding to know our efforts are making a difference.
May 4, 2025 Chris Lee was inducted into the 2025 Iowa Pheasants Forever Hall of Fame. Chris has been the president of the Aldo Leopold chapter for 16 years and doing conservation work his whole life.
This year at the 2025 Iowa State Convention, our chapter received two special recognitions. The Conservation Excellence Award is given to chapters who have contributed $750,000 towards local habitat and conservation projects. Alongside several other chapters, we also received the 2024 Chapter of the Year Award. We are honored to receive these awards and want to thank you all for your continued support.
The Des Moines County Conversation hosts a volunteer dinner every year, where they award volunteers for specific categories. The chapter was awarded, "The Volunteer Group of the Year Award" for 2024. We were awarded for our outstanding service at raising funds for public land expansion, volunteering with our public programs, and improving habitat throughout the county.
At National Pheasant Fest in 2017, the Aldo Leopold Chapter was awarded PF's National No Child Left Indoors Award for our "committment to mentoring the next generation of hunters and conservationists."
